Devotional Study Form (Printable)

He may wear some wild shirts, but I really appreciate the way Rick Warren works to make the Bible accessible and applicable to anyone.  Here is a form from Saddleback that can be printed out and used for daily devotions.

Bible Reading Plan

Although I have started a new Bible reading plan, I wanted to tell what I was doing before.  You can go to the Blue Letter Bible site and find different study tools.  I printed out the Lord's Discourses and stuck it in my Bible.  I would read through one discourse a day.  If there were multiple chapters, I would read a chapter a day.  About 35 readings in all.

After reading the passage, I would write in my journal a couple of verses and then a "fresh" take on the passage.  I did this for 8 months or so...listening to Jesus speak everyday, over and over.  Things started to sink in!  Sometime I want to print out the list of his parables and do the same thing.

About a month ago, I visited Donald Miller's site and took his suggestion.  He has started to read through the Bible 4-5 chapters a day.  Then journals a page or so about God.  I am up to Exodus 30 or so...It's been great!  I have started a new journaling technique too.  BUT...I am thinking about writing a book on that, so you'll have to wait and see.

Anybody out there have some ways of reading the Bible that have helped in your transformation?  Let us know.
