Where's the bandwagon...

...I'll jump on.

It amazes me at the platform that American Idol creates through which the Gospel goes forth.  One Christian singer who performs one song and shares his/her testimony...will witness to more people in 5 minutes than I will in 50 lifetimes.  That's the truth.

This year it looks like Danny Gokey may point a few people to his source.  Danny is a church worship leader and has made it into the top 36 contestants.  His performance of "Hero" last night prompted me to dig around the web for his story.  Fairly amazing guy.

Obama chooses Rick Warren to Pray

Rick_warren

Barack Obama made a great decision when he chose Rick Warren to offer the prayer at his inauguration.  It disappoints me that there has been some anger stirred up regarding this pick.

If you don't like Rick Warren, you don't know anything about him.  His heart is full of compassion and love for God and God's Creation.  He strives to be faithful to his calling.  His generosity is seemingly without bounds.  He has used his power and position to bring people together and to point people to those who need help.

The big problem people have with Obama's choice of Warren is that he has beliefs that they don't like.

I get onto my kids for saying it...but I have to say it.  "Duh!"

We all believe something.  None of us believe all the same things.  We're different.

Celebrate that.

For the Record

John McCain did not pick Gov. Palin in order to win over Clinton voters.

Palin's a member of NRA for crying out loud.  McCain knows Hillary supporters aren't going for that.

McCain picked Palin so that voters like me wouldn't turn off CNN when they heard the name Pawlenty.

That's really why he picked her.  He told me himself.  Seriously, I just talked to him.

McCain's Choice

Sarah Palin, Governor of Alaska

Was his choice political?  Yes

Was his choice smart? Yes

Was his choice a good one for republicans? Yes

Can the answers to the previous three questions really be 'yes'?  I am not sure how that is possible, but yes.

Kay Bailey Hutchison for VP

04_23_08_Debakey2

Cancel the VP Mitt Romney suggestion.  After some careful thought (about 3 minutes worth) I've decided that John McCain should call Kay today and ask her to be his running mate.  It is the best option he has right now.  Seriously, pick up the phone, John.

McCain Goes After Biden

Ugh...So Obama chooses Biden as his running-mate.  Not a bad choice.  McCain campaign decides to put out an ad exposing some comments by Biden.  The ad shows a clip of Biden saying Obama is not yet ready to be president.  It also shows a clip of Biden saying he would be happy to run with McCain because the country would be better off.

This bums me a little because I was pulling for McCain to pick Romney for his VP.  If that happens...and the Obama campaign takes the same tactic as McCain, they will have a very very long ad.  There is so much footage of Romney slamming Mccain it would take an hour to run it all.

That is one thing about politics...your words always come back to haunt you.

I hope they pick...

260xStory

Obama + Chuck Hagel:  Chuck Hagel is a Nebraska republican who could bring experience and the notion of change/bipartisanship to this year's race.

McCain + Mitt Romney:  Mitt Romney will excite some hesitant conservatives (yes...excited conservatives may be an oxymoron).  He brings a strong knowledge of business to balance McCain's defense prowess.

Just drop the "Reverend" already.

It takes something pretty heavy to get me upset...but this will do it.

The "Reverend" revealed his heart when he thought the mic was off.  Yes...I know we are all sinners and no one is perfect...but it still makes me mad.  Very unspiritual of me I know...

The face Jesse has while making his remarks is very telling too...very reverend-like.

OK...I'm done.

The Pickens Plan

It's a start!  I hope Pickens' plan helps us to do something sooner rather than later.
